January 30th, 2009 at 05:32pm Under Hair Loss

If I Never Saw Regrowth and Hair Loss Continued, Can I Stop Minoxidil?

January 30th, 2009 at 03:35pm Under Hair Loss

How do you determine benefit from a treatment whether there has never been regrowth and further loss? I’ve used 2% minoxidil once a day for many years with out regrowth and continued loss. I continued on the assumption the loss might have been worse without treatment. But that’s just a guess. How do I know whether I’m just wasting duration and money? Do you assume that after many years the hair is going to become minox dependent regardless what the seen results are and quiting is a not good … [visit site to read more]

The 3-P’s of Frizzy Hair

January 29th, 2009 at 10:30pm Under Hair Facts

frizzyhairSummer’s here and so is the nightmare of frizzy hair care that is abundant to send most who have them to the salon for a very premature cut. But stylists say there’s no anguish as towering as you follow the 3-P’s, Prevention, Production and a Product that works for you. Having frizzy hair means you have to wash less or you’ll be spending a ton on re-doing your hair, curling and damaging it increasingly. On windy days, best use those bandannas or scarves by your hair to prevent tangle and drying it out too much. No scarf, a piece of fabric that matches your clothes and style can serve the same purpose. Covering it plus prevents it from getting to look like a bird’s nest, towering abandoned and shredded by instance.
Under the sun, use lots of hair protection that is rated with UVA and UVB protection to prevent the sun’s rays from cooking them to a crisp. and final, most of us have a complain or two with our hair (blame advertising) and living with less than perfect hair is a nightmare. Lucky for you, you yourself might have found products that work for you and not just the stuff you see on the many ads on TV and print. Stick to ones you know work but don’t be afraid to try new stuff, get testers or smaller ones so whether they fail your expectation, you don’t waste cash.

January 29th, 2009 at 06:32pm Under Hair Loss

Hello,

I am 25 years old and have a gradually receding hairline around the temples and thinning hair for about the past two years, but I’ve been wary of getting propecia considering of the health risks, and I thought about Rogaine Foam, but I heard that it it smelled and led to shedding, among other things. Since I’m trying to hang on to everything I have left, I didn’t want to take the risk of incurring meaningful shedding with Rogaine, as well as no promise I’d grow any hair back … [visit site to read more]

January 29th, 2009 at 05:31pm Under Hair Loss

Dr, I have been taking Propecia for 10 years. whether the drug would indeed stop working, what precisely would happen? Would I have some design of telogen shed? Or would the loss be gradual? The reason that I ask is considering I am going through a severe shedding phase that began in September of 2008 and it continues until now. I have indeed ordered the “generic” drug from abroad the past couple of years. Could the abroad drugs be bogus and that is the reason I began shedding … [visit site to read more]

Why Isn’t Minoxidil an Oral Medication?

January 29th, 2009 at 03:32pm Under Hair Loss

Why isn’t minoxidil taken orally? I’ve always been under the impression that drugs taken orally (like Propecia) get to the root of the problem as opposed to ones topically. For instance, whether caffeine theoretically helped hair loss, I would think consuming caffeine would work better than putting caffeine on one’s head.

Minoxidil was originally used as an oral anti-hypertensive medication for the treatment of high blood pressure. It was unpredictable in its use so it … [visit site to read more]
