About Face: Ex-Models Muse on Beauty and Aging

Posted by admin on December 16th, 2011 at 10:02am

Renowned photographer and filmmaker Timothy Greenfield-Sanders introduces his latest documentary About Face , which chronicles the careers of some of the world’s most famous models like Isabella Rossellini, Christie Brinkley, and Jerry Hall. Having faded out of the spotlight, the women intimately divulge brutal truths surrounding the industry’s view on aging and beauty - and the drastic methods they have taken to remain forever young. When asked about plastic surgery, ex- Vogue model Carmen Dell’Orefice responds matter-of-factly, “Well, if you had the ceiling falling down in the living room, would you not go and have a repair?” The film has already received Official Selection at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival and will have a few screenings in late January of 2012. However, you will have to stay tuned for a wide release date, as the film is currently in post-production. We’ll be waiting eagerly to see it.
