Straight hair is in for most corporate women. Its is easy to manage and most definitely easy to control. Gone are the days when women are used to staying for hours and hours in front of the reflect just to be able to get the perfect perm. Now, the easier it is to get ready, the better. Women nowadays require instant fixes. that is a damn shame too considering the novelty on the hair is gone. Women are so used to having it plain and simple that its nearly too easy to see them as simply a stupid girl among the boys. To stand out, add flair to your hair by putting on a bow or a pin. Don’t just let it hand limp or tied stiffly in a bun. We should not have to give absent our inner goddess just to be able to produce ends meet in a world ruled by male machos.

Is hair transplantation successful?

August 18th, 2009 at 01:12pm Under Hair Facts

Hair transplants have become exceedingly popular among men and women who look for a long term and permanent solution to hair loss and thinning. The techniques used for hair restoration and transplantation vary widely, and so do the results. The results of hair transplant vary from patient to patient and those looking to go for hair restoration through surgery should make sure that they get in depth information of all hair loss treatments, their effects and results before going for the one they need.

Hair restoration through surgery can produce life long results. Your hair will look so natural that even a hair stylist will not be able to tell the difference if they are transplanted or real. However, choosing the right clinic and the best procedure for hair restoration is of critical importance. Checking the leading hair restoration physicians in your area is also important and discussing the problem with patients who have already had hair transplants is very important. If you look for the right experience, talent and skill when choosing your surgeon, you can be sure to achieve excellent results which will last a life time.

What is Hair Transplantation?

Hair transplantation is a surgical procedure which involves moving skin which contains hair follicles from one part of the body and transplanted to bald parts of the head or other areas of the body. Hair transplantation is not only used to restore baldness on the head, but it is also used to restore eye lashes, eye brows, beard hair and also to replace hair which may have been lost due to an accident, such as deep scars or burns.

Hair transplants use grafts of skin which include the epidermis and dermis surrounding the hair follicle. These tiny grafts are individually transplanted to achieve a natural appearance of hair. These modern transplant procedures are called Follicular Unit Transplantation which group 1 – 4 hair follicles together to mimic natural growth of hair. Single and multiple sessions may be needed for the procedure, depending upon the patient’s condition.

The procedure is performed as an outpatient basis, with mild sedation or topical anesthesia given to the patient. It normally lasts a couple of hours to up to four hours. Hair transplantation is not a painful procedure, and does not have any major side effects. The area to be treated is shampooed and treated with antibacterial chemical before surgery to prevent any infections later on.

The grafts that have to be implanted during surgery are already extracted using the Strip Harvesting Technique or the Follicular Unit Extraction. The donor area is almost always the back or sides of the scalp which already has hair growing. The Strip Harvesting Technique involves the removal of a strip containing a large number of follicular units, whereas the Follicular Unit Extraction Technique involves removal of one follicular unit at a time from the donor area. The chest, legs or face may also be used as the donor area if hair is to be transplanted at other places instead of the scalp. During the procedure, very small micro blades or fine needles are used to puncture the site for transplantation to receive the grafts. These grafts are placed in a predetermined density and pattern and angled appropriately to follow the hairs realistic pattern. The grafts are individually inserted in place as a final part of the procedure.

Once the procedure is complete, it usually takes 4 to 6 months before you see new hair growth. Patients usually suffer from hair thinning or “shock loss” which is a temporary side effect of the surgical procedure. Some patients also experience swelling of the areas of the scalp and forehead. If proper care is not taken, itching and scabs may form and infection can also result. Proper care should be taken according to the instructions given by the surgeon to avoid any post-operative complications.

Patients have experienced natural looking results after successful hair transplantation procedures. Normally, one transplant session is enough to get the desired results. Some people may need to have a second transplantation session after years of the first session, if more hair loss continues after the transplant. The second session is required to replace odd patches of hair or baldness which may have resulted due to continued hair loss.

July 27th, 2009 at 04:36pm Under Hair Facts

While not 100% accurate, that claim does have merit. You’re not going to see women ignoring men with thick, luscious, flowing hair; but at the same date, they’re not seeking Fabio.

Women are sensitive creatures running off emotion.  In their own cute little way (not an insult but a compliment) they’re insecure.  Why do you think […]
