I’m Starting to See Finer Hairs at the Hairline

Hello Doctors,
I’m a 21 year old male who has developed what appears to be a receding hairline by the past four years or so. It looks like I have some small, finer hairs around the temples, as well as the frontal hairline. It even seems that I can see back through my hair about a quarter of an inch or so. Is that miniaturization the normal development of the mature hairline? Should I be able to see a change in density through that much of my front hairline?
